Should we allow kids to dropout of high school?

I always here that the government wants to prevent high school students from dropping out. Do you guys think we should make a high school education a requirement. i understand that some of these kids don't like going school, but we should really find a solution. I also think its stupid that at the age of 16 this kids can make their own decisions. i mean come on do you really think a teenager can make good choices?
