Can I tell my council to give me the schedule in want before school starts in aug.?

I am an upcoming freshmen. In 8th grade my high school councilor came to visit us and ask us about our schedules. Well, then, I wasn't really sure about what I wanted my schedule/classes to be. Now I'm sure about the classes I want. I want to take all pre AP classes to challenge myself but when my councilor came I didn't tell her that. Can I still get all pre-AP classes In my schedule before the school year starts? And how/when would I have to do that? Would I have to meet with my councilor when I pick up my schedule or can I meet with her before that?
